Yes, you can initiate yourself. Or rather, you can set in motion a process that may very well, on its own, carry out your initiation. "Initiation" simply means that you level up into a way of life that, at first, begins to yield glimpses of freedom from suffering. It eventually breaks you through to an enlightened state, in which you are completely free of suffering and you live "magically."
